Transform your GMR center caps into floating center caps with this conversion kit. These caps will spin effortlessly, will remain level while parked and have a “floating” feature while driving, enhancing the overall appearance of your wheels. This DIY kit utilizes your current center cap emblems and does not include any emblems. Please note that you need to have a set of GMR center caps to transfer your emblems onto the new floating cap assemblies. Be sure to select the correct 4 tab or 6 tab (acrylic or machined cap) style required.
NOTE: The acrylic emblems use a chrome vinyl behind the emblem that may need to be replaced that we do not supply with the floating kit. It is recommended to cut a small piece of circle chrome vinyl to stick to the back of the emblem, and then apply the supplied 3m adhesive to the backside of the chrome to mount to the floating plate. The machined cap kit will require some drilling of the original housing to install our glue in style kit.
Kit includes the following -
4x floating cap conversion assemblies
4x 3M 2” double sided tape
1x emblem centering tool (acrylic emblems only)
Key reminders!
- These will convert your caps to spin. In order for there to be enough clearance, there is the possibility you may need to lightly sand down the inside bore of your center cap opening of the wheel face. This may be common on chrome plated or freshly powdercoated faces. Some center caps may be tight when normally mounted, which in order to spin freely will need the clearance around the cap.
- There is approximately 15mm of components behind the center cap. You may need to measure to ensure your axle/axle nut will not interfere with the components causing the cap to be stuck.
- This kit will slightly protrude the center cap emblem original location due to the required clearance behind the emblem to spin.
Paper Instructions are included, and a video of the install is attached here.
These kits are 3D printed with ABS filament and use ball bearings for the spinning components. Never use a screwdriver or attempt to disassemble the components as it will damage and break the small parts.
